Henri Greindl

Born in Brussels in 1957, Henri GREINDL studied to become an engineer, informatician and studied music, too (classical guitar).
He plays the acoustic and electric bass on wich he is mostly self-taught and the acoustic and electric guitar and some related instruments like the cavaquinho, the quatro..., is active in many groups, in which he likes to combine South American or African roots with Western musical languages. His is mostly known for his Brazilian and latin oriented projects.

He studied arrangement and film scoring un the US at the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles.

He played with many jazz musicians and bands in Belgium (Anne Wolf, Daniel Stokart, Charles Loos, Jan de Haas, Erik Vermeulen, Victor da Costa, Weber Iago...) and Brazil (Marimbanda, Caito Marcondes, Marito Correa, Léa Freire...).

He composes for film, theater and wrote arrangements for many singers and many albums.
He wrote and recorded music for several films and shows in New-York and in Europe, a.o. "BEAU FIXE" (Christian VINCENT, 1992).

In Belgium, he founds his own bands, CHEIRO DE CHORO, PARFUM LATIN, HENRI GREINDLÕs group...

Henri GREINDL teaches guitar, bass, music theory in various private schools.

He also produces for his own label Mogno Music (www.mognomusic.com).
