Jacques Pili basses électrique & acoustique Born in 1973, Jacques PILI studies and gets a "First Prize" at the jazz department of the Brussels Conservatory for bass (with teacher Michel HATZIGEORGIOU and for Harmony (with teacher Arnould MASSART). He also takes lessons in analysis at the Mons Conservatory.
He toured with pop and blues singers such as Marc MORGAN, with whom he played at the Paris Olympia, and William DUNKER, and he played with the blues band the PIRATES.
As a freelance musician, he had the opportunity to play with many well known figures of the Belgian jazz scene : Bruno CASTELLUCCI (drs), Fabrice ALLEMAN (sax), Paolo LOVERI (gt), Michel HERR (p), Guy CABAY (vibes), etc...
He also played with the big band of Calvin OWENS (musical diector of B.B. KING), the band GASPESIE (of whoch he is the musical director), with singer Julos BEAUCARNE, etc...
In 1995 he joins the band "COLOURS". This band, composed of Frankie ROSE (guitar), Vincent BRUYNINCKX (keyboards), Michel MOLITERNO (drums) and himself, recorded in 1999 the CD Rebel Heart and toured in Europe and the US.
Jacques PILI also worked with singer MAURANE.
He also plays with the band MATTIS and the trio of pianist Arnould MASSART.
He teaches electric bass, harmony and rhythm, a.o. at the Music Academy of Marchienne-au-Pont. |
