Marcel Powell Son of one of the greatest masters in the history of the guitar, the Brazilian Baden Powell, Marcel started at a young age with the classical violin which he studied for 5 years before picking up his brother Philippe's guitar at the age of nine ( who would become a pianist).
A choice accepted by his father who will become the very strict teacher of a single student, every day for ten years.
After two albums recorded with his father as a teenager (Baden Powell & Filhos and Afro-Samba Suite), Marcel has published various recordings over the years under his name or in collaboration with famous compatriots. A citizen of the world, born in Paris, raised in Germany and residing in Rio de Janeiro, he perpetuates this mix of colorful ancestry in his choros, bossas, sambas and other serenades that he performs on both South American and European stages.
