Edu Ribeiro was born in Florianopolis, Brazil, in 1975. In 1995 he moved to São Paulo, where he found lots of opportunities to work with great artists, such as Yamand Costa, Chico Pinheiro, Johnny Alf, João Donato, Rosa Passos, Anthony Wilson, Ivan Lins, Arismar do Esprito Santo, Joyce, Dori Caymmi, Léa Freire, Bocato, Hamilton de Hollanda, Paulo Moura and Dominguinhos, among many others. His growing discography includes releases with Rosa Passos (Azul), Chico Pinheiro (Meia noite-meio dia and Chico Pinheiro), Yamandu Costa (Yamandu ao vivo), Lea freire (Cartas Brasileiras and Antologia da Canão) and Edsel Gomez (Celebrating Chico Buarque de Holanda), among others. Besides recording as a sideman, he had also released the following albums: Corrente, (Maritaca, 2005, with Paulo Paulelli and Fbio Torres), Horizonte (Trama, 2003, with Daniel DAlcântara) and gua (Cântaro, 1999, with Chico Saraiva and Zé Nigro). He is also the soundtrack composer for two documentaries - Carroceiros (2005) and Crianas (2006), both directed by Alexandre Rathsam. In his first album solo ,J t te esperando (Maritaca -2006), Edu shows his own compositions, featured by Chico Pinheiro, Daniel DAlcântara, Fbio Torres, Paulo Paulelli, Thiago do Esprito Santo and Toninho Ferragutti.
